LUCKY AND JAMES

My talented chocolatier pal, Jade, approached me to design the branding and packaging for her range of chocolates she handmakes in Ballarat. Jade wanted something simple yet beautiful, with a traditional feel. She spoke of the simplicity and intricacy behind the chocolate-making process and the design took inspiration from this.

PACKAGING

PACKAGING

The design I created took cues from the unique chocolate mould, featuring clean gridded letters within a square format. The letters of the logo are arranged in a playful manner inside a diamond shape. This sits within a striking pattern of alternating diamonds and squares.

THE SET

THE SET

The suite of packaging works across the range of dark, milk and white chocolate varieties, each with a corresponding pattern.

BALLARAT'S HISTORY

BALLARAT'S HISTORY

The brand’s bright blue colour is accompanied by gold foil wrap, referencing Ballarat's gold rush history. The striped pattern motif is also a subtle nod to the traditional lolly shop stripes.

Collaborations

We use a different colour for each limited edition flavour Jade brings out. We have also made a set of chocolate bar designs for the Ballarat International Foto Biennale, featuring photography from the artists involved.
